Hi I’m Yasmine Regis, an ex-Team GB triple jumper with an extensive background in providing executive support to industry leaders. Having obtained a full sporting scholarship at 18, I left the UK to study at Texas A&M University in America, where I achieved a degree in English with focus in Creative Writing.
As my career as a professional athlete progressed, I decided to utilise my other skill sets and simultaneously start a corporate career within executive support.
During my preparations for the London 2012 Olympics as one of the UK’s top triple jumpers, I obtained what turned out to be a career ending injury. This abruptly ended my season and resulted in chearing my teamates on from my hospital bed. During my recovery I found out I was pregnant and gave birth to my daughter the following year.
Having returned to training soon after giving birth, it became clear that my injury would see me hang my spikes for the final time. So, I made the difficult decision to respectfully bow out of competition and dive into my corporate career with full force.
I was working full time alongside leaders within their respective industries, assisting them to achieve their goals. I thoroughly enjoyed my position and the ability to do what I do best – organise!
However, I faced the dilemma of a full-time working mother wanting to spend more time with her child, but more importantly a child wanting to spend more time with her mother. When a gap in the market and my life presented itself, I took the plunge into starting my own business in what I love and do best here at Registered with Regis.
